A file Shelf for moving work between Mac apps

Shelf is useful when the source and destination cannot stay visible together, or when the same small group of files will be used several times during a task.

A file Shelf is a temporary holding place for references to files and folders. In Peeker, you add or drop items onto Shelf, switch to another app, then drag them to the destination. Adding an item does not move, duplicate, or upload the original file.

How to use this workflow

    Add the files

    Select items in Peeker or drag files and folders into Shelf.

    Keep context

    Add a note, reorder the items, or pin the references you use repeatedly.

    Switch apps

    Move to the message, browser, editor, or upload form where the files are needed.

    Drag from Shelf

    Open Peeker and drag one or more available items to the destination.

    Remove the reference

    Clear the Shelf item when the handoff is complete; the original file remains where it was.

Does a file Shelf reorganize the disk?

No. Peeker Shelf stores local references. It does not create a cloud copy or silently move the source file, so your existing folder structure stays unchanged.

What happens when a file moves?

Peeker checks Shelf availability and marks unavailable references instead of silently discarding them. You can remove stale entries when they are no longer useful.

Can I drag several files from Shelf?+

Peeker supports direct dragging of Shelf items into compatible apps. The browser view also supports multi-selection for file actions and dragging.
